About me
Julianne (Jules) Grable has been a proud member of the Butler community since October 2018. She currently serves as the Director of Student Advocacy and provides responsive support for survivors of sexual misconduct and crisis support and case management services to support students who are experiencing challenges, distress, or crises that impact their social, personal, or academic goals. She has been trained as a Victim's Advocate in Wyoming, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, and has over a decade of experience providing crisis management and advocacy services to survivors of violence. She routinely creates engaging advocacy skills training curriculum for students, with the goal of creating a more equitable, safe, and just world where healthy relationships are the norm, consent is sought and received for each sexual act, and everyone plays a role in keeping the community safe. Jules earned her Master's in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University in 2011 after she completed her thesis, "Gender Self-Concept and Sexual Behavior of Students in Greek Letter Organizations." She completed a graduate certificate in Applied Educational Neuroscience from Butler University in May 2023. She is currently pursuing a second graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling. Jules serves on the NASPA Strategies Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Conference Planning Committee and frequently presents at professional development conferences. As of April 2022, she also serves as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor at Butler University. Jules is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (500-hour), with additional certifications in trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness meditation, and breath coaching.
