The pandemic and rapid expansion nearly capsized Coburn Place 2021-2022. The road from a fractured culture far beyond its capacity with poor survivor outcomes and opaque finances has been arduous but incredibly rewarding. Hear honest talk from three seasoned leaders who worked together and with the whole Coburn Place team to apply our vision “to illuminate a path forward to restore hope and promote healing” to the organization itself. This session will discuss organizational trauma and the recovery process, departmental siloing, how the leadership team found its footing to become “the First Team,” and promoted real cross-department collaboration.  We will drill down on the specifics of changing staff culture through values-driven behaviors. We will discuss the role of leaders having self-awareness and learning to share power. We will also include brief summaries of how we have built staff acumen and cooperation around program data, understanding grants, fundraising, and the organization’s finances.  .
