Kerry Hyatt Bennett is the Chief Legal Counsel at the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) and an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, specializing in state and federal domestic violence law, public policy and practice. Ms. Bennett, is a frequent speaker on the legal issues confronting domestic abuse survivors. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including the Leadership in Law Award from the Indiana Lawyer where she was recognized as a “Distinguished Barrister” in Indiana, and was a 2011 “Woman of Influence” as recognized by the Indiana Business journal. In 2013, Ms. Hyatt Bennett received the Honorable David Shaheed Access to Justice Award from the Muslim Alliance of Indiana. She is a Past President of the Indianapolis Bar Association, and a recipient of that organization’s Antoinette Dakin Leach Award which recognizes trail blazing women lawyers in Indiana.
